Background

Ahmed graduated with Bachelor degree of Pharmaceutical Sciences, at Faculty of Pharmacy, Assiut University (in 2002 with a degree of honor). Then, he got his Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Medicinal Chemistry (June 2009), also from Assiut University, through a scholarship funded by Academy of Scientific Research and Technology. In February 2015, he was awarded the Ph.D. degree in Biological Chemistry, from Korea University of Science and Technology (UST), Korea, through a fully funded scholarship. In September 2015, he was appointed in this current job as a Lecturer at Biotechnology and Life Sciences Department. Since October 2017, he started a postdoctoral fellowship at Hanyang University, Korea.

Research interest

His research interest is using chemistry to understand/solve biological issues. Therefore, he works in the design and synthesis of organic compounds of potential biological activity (such as: prodrugs, kinase inhibitors, antiproliferative agents, neuroprotective agents, and fluorogenic probes).

Projects

? Development of fluorogenic probes for the detection of carbapenemase producing bacteria (postdoctoral project).

?  Design, synthesis and biological evaluation of new aryl urea compounds of potential kinase inhibition activity, (50,000 EGP) funded from Beni-Suef University for competitive research project.
