Background

Mai has completed her Ph.D. in Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Cairo University, Egypt in 2011. Now, she works as a lecturer at Biotechnology and Life Sciences Department, Faculty of Postgraduate Studies for Advanced Sciences, Beni-Suef University, Egypt.  

Research interests 

Her research interests focus principally on discovery of natural products from new resources for various pharmaceutical purposes.

Projects 

08/2017-present (950,000 EGP): PI of a project entitled: “Unraveling the diversity and important functional attributes of endophytes associated with selected medicinal crops from South Africa and Egypt”, Joint Egypt (STDF)-South Africa (NRF) Scientific Cooperation, International Cooperation Grants-2016.

10/2016-present (80,000 EGP): researcher in a project entitled: “Antidiabetic Activity of Zinc Oxide and Curcumin Nanoparticles on Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Rats”, funded by National Research Center, Egypt.

03/2015-present (40,000 EGP): PI of a project entitled: “Anti-Hepatitis C Viral activities of Some Natural Phenolic Compounds”, funded by Beni-Suef University, Egypt.
